Triboelectric surface field strength of wood after brushing

Abstract Mechanical friction causes electrical surface charges on wooden surfaces. In this research, triboelectric activation of solid wood surfaces was investigated by using a brushing machine. The extent and the potential influence machine parameters, or various species are questions so far unanswered. field strengths were continuously detected means an electric meter. Machine settings, such as feed rate brush pressure, have been varied to better understand effects resulting charges. Data showed that nylon tynex brushes lead strong positive while natural fibers less strengths. contrast, steel wire negative for oak wood, slightly beech stronger softwoods. Overall, tendency higher pressure led recorded faster reduced observed. As these findings influenced materials, understanding specific interactions is essential future applications. Tailoring can be asset new technical applications, chemistry-free primer treatments prior coating.
